Featuring Roger Volz on saxophone and vocals, Tim Haggerty on keyboards and bass and Terry Baker on drums, in a show that travels from the 40’s and throughout the decades. Jazz trio Standard Blue plays music from the 40’s onwards, with classic tunes from Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, James Taylor, Robert Cray, Phil Collins, Mel Torme, Chet Baker, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and more.
Bios
Raised with the music of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughn, Roger Volz has developed his own style of singing not only those standards but soul and blues as well. He’s also the lead singer, saxophonist and writer for the popular Sonoma County soul and funk horn band, Soul Fuse.
Tim Haggerty’s in-demand skills as a keyboard and bass player has led to collaborations with several popular recording artists, including Jesse Colin Young and Jewell. He plays regularly with brother Terry Haggerty (guitarist, Sons of Champlin) and son Aaron Haggerty (tour drummer with Al McKay from Earth, Wind & Fire). Most recently, Tim has performed on keyboards and bass with Huey Lewis guitarist Chris Hayes & saxophonist Michael Bolivar. He currently tours with The Gator Nation Band.
Terry Baker has worked with numerous musical favorites such as Michael Bloomfield, the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils, Norton Buffalo, Roy Rogers, Commander Cody, Brian Auger, Joe Louis Walker, the Johnnie Nocturne Band with Brenda Boykin, Annie Sampson, and the Rancho All Stars.
